Hyperlinking - How to Improve Your Pleadings & Impress the Judge August 01, 2013 Time: 12:10 p.m. - 1:15 p.m. Registration: 11:45 a.m. The FBA-LA, together with the U.S. District Court, invites all interested attorneys, summer associates,
paralegals and other firm staff to learn more about hyperlinking.
Hyperlinks in electronically filed documents provide substantial benefits. With the click of a mouse, judges can instantly be taken to a pertinent case, declaration, or other part of the record. Using hyperlinks in filings ensures attorneys that they are presenting their arguments in the most easily accessible and efficient way. Additionally, because hyperlinks permit quick confirmation that a case, declaration, or part of the record has been cited accurately, they discourage inaccuracies.
District Judge Dean Pregerson and Magistrate Judge Cheryl Zwart of the District of Nebraska, a pioneer in promoting hyperlinking as a time-saving strategy for judges and lawyers, will be the instructors.
Registration is now full.
~ The Central District does not currently permit Hyperlinking, but is considering whether to do so, and in what form. ~
